When I left Dutton, I rode on a frontage road east of I-15. After about 5 miles, it turned from blacktop to the road pictured below. I had to ride on that loose gravel for about 5 miles before being able to switch to the frontage road on the west side of I-15, which was paved.
My only restaurant option for breakfast in Dutton was closed for the Fourth of July. Good for them, but bad for me. So a Poptart and banana, and I'm off to Great Falls. About 35 miles later, I find this. Bad for them, good for me :)
I found a new use for a playground merry-go-round. Put your solar panels on it and just spin it a little as the shade comes in.
Pic of nice Western scenery below.
A few pics below from Great Falls.
A blast from the past. An old drive-in, and it's not a Sonic.
The Missouri River in Great Falls.
They were gearing up for their big Fourth of July parade when I pulled into town.
The Cascade County Courthouse in Great Falls, and the Ten Commandments set in stone outside it's entrance.
Most of this afternoon was spent in terrain pictured below. I snaked thru a valley for several miles.
After I climbed out of the valley, I was back in terrain pictured below.
Then I came across the Highwood Mountains in the distance (pics below).
I went through Geyser. Pics of it's main street below. Like many small towns I've been through, it also has pretty much dried up. However, the local bar was preparing for a Fourth of July celebration tonight.
After Geyser came Stanford, and I'm camping there at an RV park. As I got into town, there was a rainbow in the distance. I got to take a nice hot shower and wash my clothes. Pic of my campsite and the rainbow below.
Total miles today: 100.4
All you can eat, a biker dream. Did you shut them down!
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful day. I enjoy looking for your entries each morning at 6 a.m. I read them to my wife each day. Sorry I don't get to comment each day. That involves walking upstairs to a computer to do that. lol.
ReplyDeleteThe Ten Commandments were missing one I noticed. #11 Thou shalt ride thy bike each day, but not more than 100 miles. Thou shalt sleep in a comfy bed afterwards, too.
