Day 9: 6/27/24: Bentonville, AR to Fairyland, OK

The campground last night was super nice and quiet.  There were only 2 other campers there. One was van camping so I did not meet them.  The other was a nice young couple from Tulsa, Oklahoma.  All of the campsites, with exception of the van camping area, are walk-in sites.  There are wagons available for campers to use to haul their gear to their sites.  The young couple loaded  2 wagons and headed off to their site.  I jokingly said that they were going to need a larger site due to the amount of stuff they had in those wagons.  They proceeded to make 2 more trips with 2 full wagons each trip.  My entertainment was sitting on my camp deck eating my oranges watching them unload and haul all their stuff.

The last town I went through in Arkansas was Gravette (pics below).

I then headed northwest until I dipped my wheel into Missouri again.

I cut through the very southwest corner of Missouri and went through a town appropriately called Southwest City, Missouri (pics below).

Dave's Supermarket pictured above is also a clothing store.  True one stop shopping.

I backtracked about 2 miles so I could take a picture of my bicycle in 3 states at the same time (pic below).  The front wheel is in Missouri, the pedals are in Arkansas, and the rear wheel is in Oklahoma.  The photo was taken at the AR-MO-OK Tri State Marker.

Then after pedaling several miles i made it to...

In Oklahoma, I rode through the Seneca-Cayuga Nation Reservation and the Wyandotte Nation.  The Seneca-Cayuga Nation are descended from Iroquoian peoples who had relocated to Ohio from New York state in the mid-18th century. The Wyandotte Nation consists of peoples of the Tionontati, Attignawantan and Wenrohronon (Wenro), all unique independent tribes, who united in 1649-50 after being defeated by the Iroquois Confederacy.

I'm camping tonight at the Twin Bridges State Park near Fairland, OK.

Total miles today:  64.7
