Day 9: 8/1/24: Dover to Williamsport, TN

I slept extremely well last night in spite of the heat.  The route and heat yesterday must have taken more out of me than I thought.  I went to sleep a little after 7 p.m. and woke up at about 3:00 a.m.  I woke up a few times during the night to get rid of some of those liters of water I consumed yesterday, but was able to immediately go back to sleep.  I pulled out of the campground about 4:00 a.m.

Today did not seem as hot as it was yesterday.  It might have been that I had more shade today than yesterday which helps a lot.  Also, it seemed to be a little bit more breezy today which also kept me a little cooler.

You know you're on a good portion of a route when you cross a bridge that looks like this...

I'm camping tonight, my last night on the road this trip, at the Natchez Trace.
